PROGRAM SUPPORT SPECIALIST VACANCY

 

The Lord Fairfax Soil & Water Conservation District headquartered in Strasburg in Shenandoah County, VA, is seeking a full-time Program Support Specialist. Responsibilities will include a range of administrative duties in support of contracts for the installation of agricultural Best Management Practices, as well as contact with landowners. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age. Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent, and agriculture or natural resources experience required. Primary duty station will be the SWCD office in Strasburg, VA, with some travel throughout the SWCD service area of Clarke, Frederick, Shenandoah and/or Warren Counties. Potential candidate must have knowledge of computers and Microsoft programs, be a self-starter, detail-oriented and willing to work in a team environment. Must have excellent communication and organizational skills. Knowledge of GIS is preferred. Salary range is $35,000- 45,000, commensurate with knowledge and experience. Health, retirement and leave benefits provided. Work may require some use of employee’s own vehicle with work related mileage reimbursed at State rate.
