2024 Envirothon
The Lord Fairfax Soil and Water Conservation District will host the local competition on Tuesday, April 9th at Clermont Farms in Berryville, VA.
Test Areas include: Aquatics, Forestry, Soils, Wildlife and a Current Issue- Renewable Energy for a Sustainable Future. In addition to the five field tests, students are tasked to provide an oral presentation, worth double the points, on a problem related to the current special topic. Here is the 2024 Oral Presentation Problem.
The Virginia Association of Soil and Water Conservation Districts (VASWCD) has compiled various resources for all field tests and the special topic. All test questions are based on these resources! You can find them here: Envirothon Study Resources - Virginia Association of Soil and Water Conservation Districts (vaswcd.org)
In addition to those resources, LFSWCD has “Envirothon Trunks” filled with recommended study resources, and staff would be happy to visit your classrooms to provide training or listen to your presentation for feedback to improve. Whatever we can do to help, please let us know!
If you are interested in an in-person training, the Area 1 Envirothon Training will be on March 9th at Bridgewater College. There is a registration fee ($10 per person) - Coaches and students are both encouraged to attend. Register here!
