District staff work directly with farmers and landowners to plan and design Best Management Practices (BMP’s) that meet the needs of each individual farm or property. If eligible, LFSWCD can provide financial incentives through cost-share or tax credits to implement BMPs. Even if an operation is not eligible, technical assistance can still be provided!

The Commonwealth of Virginia supports the Lord Fairfax Soil and Water Conservation District through financial and administrative assistance provided by the Virginia Soil and Water Conservation Board and the Department of Conservation and Recreation.


The District also receives financial and administrative support from the Counties of Clarke, Frederick, Shenandoah, and Warren, and the City of Winchester. Equal opportunity provider and employer.
